* YWBA: Yokohama Water Business Association

As part of the survey for improvement in water and wastewater works in Batam City, Indonesia, implemented by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Batam City officials responsible for wastewater management visited the wastewater treatment plants in northern part of Yokohama City. They were greatly interested in advanced wastewater treatment processes including ozone oxidation and learned about the water recycling systems.

In cooperation with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Yokohama Water Co., Ltd., the Yokohama Waterworks Bureau accepted ten waterworks engineers from eight African countries for training.
Five YWBA member companies participated in the inception report to learn about the current situation and issues they are now facing in their own countries.
During the training in Yokohama, the engineers visited the factory of the YWBA company.

The City of Yokohama exhibited at Viet Water 2017, which is the largest international exhibition of water sector in Vietnam, and made a presentation in the technical seminar held at the venue. 467 companies and organizations from around the world exhibited at the event, which attracted about 14,000 visitors.

The Asia Smart City Conference is an international conference that brings together city leaders in Asia and representatives from international organizations, academic institutions and private companies, aiming at establishing a knowledge hub for Smart Cities.
The Yokohama Waterworks Bureau and the Environmental Planning Bureau were jointly put up a booth in conjunction with the event for pursuing overseas business opportunities of YWBA member companies.

The Yokohama Waterworks Bureau exhibited at the IWA-ASPIRE Conference and Exhibition for promotional activities of YWBA.
The event attracted about 650 participants from 33 countries from Asia-Pacific regions. Officials from YWWB distributed promotional materials including the YWBA member list and made a presentation in the business forum at the venue.

The Yokohama Waterworks Bureau exhibited at the 4th Executive Forum for Enhancing Sustainability of Urban Water Service in the Asian Region held jointly by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the City of Yokohama. Eight companies from YWBA were running sales promotion to expand their business in Asian countries at the venue.

As part of the training program for Republic of Panama: Sewerage Administration, officials from the Unit for Coordinating Sanitation in Panama City (UCP), which supervises, operates and manages sewerage works, visited Yokohama to learn about the sewerage management in Yokohama.

To support YWBA member companies in expanding their business in Vietnam, the Yokohama Waterworks Bureau held a seminar in cooperation with HueWACO introducing their products and technologies
Six companies presented in the seminar showing their products and technologies. The event attracted 165 participants from 58 water sectors in Vietnam.

The chief executive meeting of the YWBA was held in April. The City of Yokohama shared the activity reports and future plans with the YWBA chief executives.
